INDIANA MEMBERS CREDIT UNION ANNOUNCES $AVE PROGRAM

IMCU UNVEILS GREEN INITIATIVES 

(Indianapolis, IN, April, 2010)  Indiana Members Credit Union (IMCU) is excited to announce their commitment to "Green" Initiatives through their $AVE program.  The Save And Value Earth ($AVE) program is geared toward eco-friendly changes, focusing on the following areas:

• Adding an internal recycling program which includes collection bins in branches, departments, executive offices and kitchen areas for recyclable items including: paper, plastics 1-7, aluminum, tin, steel, foil, shrink wrap and plastic film
• Kicking off internal promotions to generate ways to be "Green"
• Researching products and cleaning solutions that are Enviro-Friendly and assist in conserving energy
• Reducing the amount of waste produced
• Researching opportunities for members to recycle used paper and plastic items in branch lobbies

The IMCU $AVE program is being implemented by employee volunteers to assist in the environmental efforts and encourage participation from the entire organization. 

"IMCU realizes the importance of being environmentally friendly and we feel it's our duty as a community leader to implement a green initiative, such as $AVE.  We feel it’s important to play our part in protecting and preserving the earth for future generations and encourage others to do the same," said Ron Collier, CEO of IMCU.

IMCU will be celebrating Earth Day at their locations the week of April 19-23.  During the week, IMCU will focus on conserving energy by turning off some of the lights in their branch lobbies, kitchen areas, and restrooms, conserving water, recycling all recyclable items and encouraging employees to carpool to and from work.  In addition, IMCU will be inviting members to go paperless by signing up for Statement Express, in an effort to reduce the amount of paper statements printed.  IMCU will plant a tree on the members’ behalf once they have enrolled in the program throughout the week.  Please visit www.imcu.org for more information regarding $AVE and Earth Week.
